Business improvement is never-ending, but not everyone has a willing organization
and a capable mentor in the office next door. And at the speed of business today,
improvement often gets lost in the race to close the next sale and ship the day’s
production. That’s why we created Take Ten Minutes.
Each new issue is an opportunity to "take ten" to refocus and recommit to business
improvement. It features articles, anecdotes, examples and interviews to inform,
challenge, and hopefully inspire you to continue your business improvement and culture
change efforts. We also use common business situations and real company examples
to highlight the power of having a preventive culture (or the deep problems caused
by not having one).
As the name suggests, Take Ten Minutes is relentless with the editing razor and
keeps each issue tightly focused to ensure you can find time for it in your busy
schedule. Each issue should take no more than ten minutes to read, start to finish.
You'll reap even bigger rewards if you add an extra ten minutes to discuss the ideas
with a colleague or apply an idea to your daily activities.
We hope Take Ten Minutes becomes the business improvement equivalent of your running
partner, providing the incentive you need to "just do it" on those weeks when the
couch seems oh-so preferable. As Philip Crosby said,
improving your business "is a journey that never ends." We’re glad that you’ve chosen
Take Ten Minutes as reading material for your trip.
That said, lasting change takes reflection, commitment, a process, and know-how.
While the articles touch each of these areas over time, keep in mind they are written
for a variety of organizations at various stages of the improvement journey. Improvement
by newsletter is neither optimal nor recommended, because each organization is at
its own stage of maturity and faces a unique set of critical business issues. Diagnosing
those issues and executing a specific plan to move the organization forward is what
Philip Crosby Associates and The Capability Group do. Use Take Ten Minutes wisely
– to start, continue or reinforce the improvement process. When you feel your organization
could be more successful, and is ready for real, lasting change, give us a call
at (877) 276-7295. We’ll be happy to discuss your specific situation.
